Homemade Old Fashioned Southern Pecan Pie!

Today on a field trip, I had the opportunity to taste a moist and delicate pecan pie filling surrounded by a light and flaky hand pressed crust.  The kind that is still warm and melts in your mouth.

This delightful homemade mini pecan pie was made by Chef Jodell Hinojosa from JoFoody’s Catering & Foody Blues BBQ in Vancouver, Washington.  Individual mini southern pecan pies are available in limited quantities at the Vancouver Farmers Market Saturdays at 6th & Esther Street

Just had a great lunch at a long time Portland, Oregon sleeper restaurant.  Bocci’s on 7th in the close in east side of Portland offers a very nice lunch for a great price.  My wife & I had the daily special of Grilled Breast of Chicken and Fettuccine Alfredo.  This came complete with spring garden greens, tasty blue cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers.  The pasta came with toast grilled artisan bread.

The service was pleasant and personable in this quaint southeast Portland restaurant.  Open for lunch Monday through Friday and dinner Wednesday through Saturday.  They are available for takeout as well as local delivery.

On previous visits have had the Bacon Cheddar Burger, Grilled Ruben and Chicken Picatta.  All were very pleasing and definitely worth having again.

It is best to park on the street as the parking lot is very tiny and fills up fast.
