Christmas Catering – Be a Guest at Your Own Party!

Be a Guest at Your Own Christmas Party

Entertaining during the holidays doesn’t need to be a completely stressful time.   As a matter of fact if you have done your planning early and scheduled the tasks leading up to the event, you could enjoy being a guest at your own party!

Start planning early to get the best selection of dates available from your Christmas Party event suppliers.  Santa is very busy during this time of the year and his best dates fill up early.  Don’t forget Mrs. Santa Claus too and Santa’s Elves.  If you are making arrangements to have Christmas Carolers serenade your guests, there is even more reason to schedule well in advance.  Make arrangements with the largest vendor first. Most likely it will be the catering company you have selected to provide hors d O’euvres or dinner for the event.

Be sure to allow enough time to send out some fun Christmas party invitations

Selecting the Best Date for a Christmas Party

The first two weekends in December are the best and busiest weekends for holding a Christmas party.  Usually by the third weekend everyone has started to get exhausted already.  People have more energy during this time.  Larger events usually book these dates well in advance.  These dates are the first ones to go.

Considering Non Peak Dates

Depending upon the type of holiday event, you may want to hold it during non peak times.  Not on a Friday or Saturday night but maybe on a Saturday afternoon.  Although, this can be considered peak time as well.  Holding an event on Sunday through Thursday may offer more flexibility in the schedule.  Talk with your catering company, Santa Claus, entertainment provider, and florist about the opportunity for any upgrades, discounts, or benefits to booking during less peak times.  It is another way to stretch the holiday party budget to get the most party for the buck!

Adding Up the Costs

This is the year having a Christmas Party. Having a reasonable budget is important!  Even with the tough economy goods and services do cost.  If the budget is tight, consider doing some of the preparations yourself.  Or instead of full service catering have the food prepared and delivered in disposable containers.  Keep them at proper temperatures and transfer the food into your serving containers.  Magic! You get all the credit without all of the work!  Enjoy!
